Biography: Tony Anderson defends individuals and corporate clients who find themselves entangled in the criminal justice system either because they are charged with a criminal offense in state or federal court or because they are the focus of a criminal investigation. For his clients, he has tried and won or successfully negotiated favorable outcomes in numerous and varied criminal cases- from complex white collar litigation, to death penalty trials, to serious felony and misdemeanor proceedings. He is included in the list of lawyers qualified to be appointed lead counsel in capital defense cases by the Virginia Indigent Defense Commission. He also has qualified to be appointed lead counsel in a capital – death penalty case in federal court.

His experience has taken him to federal courtrooms in the United States District Courts for the Western and Eastern Districts of Virginia, the Southern District of Florida, the Northern District of Ohio, and the Southern District of West Virginia. However, he is equally at home in the Circuit Courts and General District Courts of the Roanoke Valley and all of Virginia” In addition, he practices regularly before the Circuit Courts and General District Courts of the Commonwealth of Virginia.

Tony Anderson was chosen to be the Chairman of the Criminal Law Section of the Virginia State Bar. He was honored to be selected to become a member of the Committee on Virginia Jury Reform Task Force as well as a member of the Virginia Criminal Justice Conference Work Group. He was invited to be a master of the bench in the Ted Dalton American Inn of Court.
